How to Use Collaborative Training Mode in Osso Nurse Training

Learn how to host or join a Collaborative Training session in Osso Nurse Training.

Article Overview

Collaborative Training Mode allows multiple users to join the same nursing simulation scenario for team-based learning. Nurse educators can lead group instruction, proctor assessments or facilitate peer-to-peer practice in a shared virtual environment.

How to Join a Collaborative Training Session

  1. In the headset, after logging in to Osso Nurse Training,  click Collaborative Training at the top of the screen.
  2. Select the Invite Code field.
  3. With the pop-up number pad, type in the provided Invite Code and click the Enter key.

    Note: The host of the collaborative training session will provide an invite code.
  1. Click the Join button.
  2. Review the session details.
  3. Click the Join button.

    Note: Before the first Collaborative Training session, a tutorial will run to familiarize users with the additional functionality available in this mode.

How to Host a Collaborative Training Session

  1. In the headset, after logging in to Osso Nurse Training,  select Collaborative Training at the top of the menu.
  2. Select Host.
  3. Select the dropdown menu and select the intended scenario.

    Note: Scroll with the joystick if needed to view all available scenarios.
  1. Choose a minimum duration (in minutes).

    Note: Minimum duration is the period during which the Collaborative Training Session remains open when no users are active. For example, a session with a minimum duration of 30 minutes will remain open indefinitely as long as there is an active user. The session will close after 30 minutes of inactivity.
  1. Click Host again.
  2. Click Join to enter the session.

    Note: Make sure to
    share the Invite Code with others so that they may join the session.

If users cannot connect to a Collaborative Training session or receive an error code, please check with the organization’s IT team and verify that the correct IP ranges and Ports are whitelisted on the network.
