SAN FRANCISCO, December 6, 2022—Osso VR, now the largest and fastest-growing virtual reality (VR) company in healthcare, today announced the appointment of two new executives to its growing team: Stacie Frederick as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Heather Gervais as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Frederick brings over a decade of experience leading product and engineering for multiple high-profile companies and early-stage startups including Collective Health, Yahoo!, and Amazon. She most recently served as Senior Vice President of Software Engineering at Butterfly Network, scaling the development of its cloud-based, whole-body imaging device.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to be a part of a smart and talented team creating real impact in healthcare,” said Frederick. “I’m delighted to join a mission-driven company on the forefront of innovation, democratizing safer, better surgical procedures through groundbreaking virtual reality experiences.”

With more than 20 years of experience overseeing commercial and operations in the health tech industry, Gervais becomes Osso VR’s first Chief Revenue Officer. Previously, she was Senior Vice President of Everly Health and held key leadership positions as Vice President of Commercial Operations & Sales for athenahealth and Vice President of Operations for Epocrates. A seasoned professional in healthcare marketing, finance and commercial partnerships, Gervais was instrumental in the athenahealth-Epocrates merger.

"I am thrilled to be joining the company at such an exciting time. Virtual reality in healthcare is experiencing tremendous growth, and I look forward to supporting the leading role Osso VR plays as we continue to scale and advance our features to meet demand,” said Gervais. “I remember joining Epocrates before mobile app marketing to physicians was widely adopted and eventually mobile and digital marketing became synonymous. I truly believe the same thing will happen with surgical training and virtual reality.”

Frederick and Gervais join Osso VR during a momentous year of growth following its $66M Series C fundraise in March. Earlier this month, Osso VR was included on TIME’s Best Inventions of 2022 list and partnered with the American College of Cardiology—underscoring the market’s rising demand for innovative, scalable surgical training tools.

"It’s a privilege to welcome two experienced, highly regarded industry leaders like Stacie and Heather to Osso VR as we continue to advance our company footprint worldwide," said Justin Barad, MD, co-founder and CEO of Osso VR. “Expanding our leadership team is critical to maintaining our momentum and will further enable us to democratize surgical training across the globe.”
